TJ’s Awakening: The Genesis of the Meridian Stone Series

Hmmmm… The Meridian Stone Series Genesis? Where did the idea for the series come from? How did you come up with the storyline and characters? Those are the top two questions posed to me. And my answer? Well, it’s complicated. So, here goes, but I warn you… It may sound a bit cliché’.

It came to me in a dream. No, really! It did! I think. About two years ago, I awoke in the middle of the night, and there she was. Laying on my back, staring at the ceiling, I saw her. Staring back at me. From inside my head. I could see her eyes, hair, line of her nose, shape of her face, curve of her lips as clearly as I could see my own reflection in a mirror. Her name was Alessandria. Just like that…I knew it.

It was beyond weird. I don’t usually wake up with strange females on the brain. As the day went on, I was able to shake her but, inevitably, she would reemerge on subsequent nights. I could feel her sadness, pain, loneliness. Her desperate longing to be free.

Things just got weirder and weirder when a couple of weeks later, a tall blonde woman joined her. Groggily, I sat up in bed, rubbed my eyes, then focused on the thought. Alessandria was sitting cross-legged before an exquisite, oval, floor mirror and this woman was standing behind her. Scowling. Mother.

At this point, I was so fascinated by it all that I began to jot down notes. The notes inspired more detail, coaxing more sleepless nights, until a beautiful male with blue-black long hair and dazzling pale grey eyes appeared. And that was that! I finally got the message.

Sitting in front of my PC, I let my fingers move across the keyboard, typing whatever came to my mind. It was time to set Alessandria free. With my random notes sitting in a pile next to me, untouched, I sighed at the first words on the page.
She should have been dead already!
